The redesigned International Mozilla Store is open, just in time for the holiday season. Visitors will notice that it looks almost identical to the US Store. The biggest change is that the International store now has much of the same merchandise (including the great t-shirt designs) of the existing US Store, and in the coming weeks the merchandise selections will closely mirror each other. For more background about the relaunch of the Mozilla Store project, check out John’s post from earlier this year.
We are exploring ways that we can make the store a truly global project — currently the International Store primarily covers the EU, though both the EU and US stores allow shipping to other countries. There has been quite a lot of feedback from people that have encountered high shipping costs to other regions around the world beyond the US and EU. Even in today’s global economy, shipping costs for Mozilla Store products can often exceed the costs of the products themselves due to a smorgasboard of tariffs and duties. We are working on ways that we can reasonably ship merchandise to anywhere in the world. In the meantime, if shipping costs are too steep in the area you live, check out the t-shirt group on spreadfirefox.com for ways that you can create your own gear.
Wouldn’t € prices be more reasonable for the EU than £?
The International store is based in the UK, thus the prices in £
Well, in the previous design it was at least *possible* to switch the prices to €. That’s a terrible regression IMHO.
By the way, the “Contact” and “Help” links both lead to a nonexistent page.
I don’t know, but I guess it should be possible to be UK-based and have prices in Euro… Would be a little bit sucky for the British folks but better for the rest of the world, which I think matters for an “International store”.
Prices in £ are stupid for “international” store targeted for Europeans. Location of store itself is irrelevant.
Still no metro backpack!
@Adam: There’s a dropdown menu on the lower right of the store homepage to select euros as the pricing option.
